Its Great news. And i am glad to share it with you all. Firefox downloads had now reached a whopping 300+ million downloads since its inception in November 2004. On an average it means more than 3,60,000 downloads each day. Personally, its been long time since I stopped using Windows. Initially, I missed Internet Explorer and never used tabbed browsing even in Firefox (those features not in IE). But I chose to follow the migration rule “Try anything for 21 days and it becomes a habit”. But it was just a week and a few days that i got addicted to firefox, with thousands of cool plugins and themes and easy customization with that “about:config” page. Now, turning back i say to myself… “What features in Internet Explorer, if at all it had some, did i miss in Firefox initially?

Feel like moving to Firefox? Just click a few pixels below…

You know very well that Mozilla Firefox is a much much better browser than the IE. But one thing i missed during development testing with Firefox is the debugging of Javascript error messages. IE would just pop us a very useful ‘Object expected’ message. ;-)
Ignorance had the best in us. Actually, Mozilla gives a wonderful Javascript AND CSS console to play with. To view the console Click TOOLS — > Error Console.

If you were an Internet Explorer user and recently migrated to Mozilla, just because you finally decided to ditch that buggy OS and embrace the lovely Linux, you would have missed a few good (accidental) features of IE.

One, the creation of MHT archives is not possible in the “Vanilla” Mozilla. Personally, i hate creating a folder and a html page for every single page i save from the internet. I know you too are. We need it in one single pack. Like the MHT archive in IE. Here comes the solution for Mozilla.

Find the plugin here.

Just open the file with Firefox and you are done with the installation process. It works fine with my Firefox 2.0.

Two, the Image Toolbar in IE that comes up when we move our mouse over an image. Mozilla does provide the same feature but as an add-on

Click Tools –> Add ons –> Get extensions

image toolbar

Search for Image Toolbar in the “Find More Addons” (our stuff comes up in the second page)

There are a lot, lot and lots of add-ons available there. You could just browse and find yourself lost. There was also some plugin for Orkut !!!

Here is my list of addons.

Mozilla is ruling the internet. Same is the effect on me.
